Mysore The third largest city in Karnataka, Mysore gets its name from
Mahishasura, the demon from Puranas, who used to rule here. This
city of palaces, flowers and sandalwood was once the residence of
the Maharajas of Mysore. |

Ooty
Founded by British colonists attempting to escape the heat of the
Indian summer, Ooty soon became a popular British summer retreat
and a favored resort of the Indian Maharajas. This 'Queen of hill
stations' lies in the Nilgiri hills amidst tea gardens, pine and
eucalyptus trees, and is a favourite location for Bollywood film
shootings. |

Day 1: Bangalore – Mysore: Upon arrival at Bangalore transfer
to Mysore (140 kms /2.30hrs). Rest for the day and in the
evening do some shopping of sandal wood handicrafts and the
famous Mysore silk and visit brindavan gardens.
Day 2: Mysore: This morning, visit the famous Mysore Palace, embellished with stained glass and domes and turrets giving it an ethereal air. Later you will drive just outside the city to Chamundi Hill and see the shrine with its solid gold deity and a huge granite statue of Nandi.
Day 3: Mysore-Ooty :This Day after breakfast Proceed to Ooty (150Kms/3.50hrs).Check-in and Relax at the Hotel.
Day 4: Ooty: Today you will be taken for sightseeing in Ooty. Enjoy your tour of the tea gardens, the Botanical Gardens and later a slow boat ride around the Ooty Lake.
On a clear day you can view all the mountains from the Dodabetta Peak, which is the highest point in the Nilgiris. Ooty has infinite walks and treks to choose from.
Evening you can do some shopping of famous Ooty Home-made Chocolates.
Day 5: Ooty-Bangalore :After breakfast depart from Ooty and proceed towards Bangalore (290 kms /5.30) enroute you will pass through Bandipur National Park. One can hop in for a safari in the national park (at additional cost)
Arrive back to Bangalore by evening. |
