SUWON HWAEONG FORTRESS: Hwaseong Fortress is an impressivestructure from the latter part of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) and theofficial fortress of Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do. The fortress, constructed from1794 to 1796, was built as a display of King Jeongjo’s filial piety towardshis father and to build a new pioneer city with its own economic power.The fortress wall stretches for a total of 5.52km and has a great variety ofmilitary facilities that are hard to find anywhere else. Four gates faceeach of the cardinal directions—Janganmun (north), Paldalmun (south),Changnyongmun (east), and Hwaseomun (west)—and the seven-archstyle Sumun gates straddle the point where the nearby stream reaches thepalace. Above the Sumun gates is a pavilion called Hwahongmun.

JEONJU HANOK VILLAGE:Jeonju Hanok Village is located in the city ofJeonju and overlaps Pungnam-dong and Gyo-dong. There are 735traditional Korean hanok houses. While the rest of the city has beenindustrialized, Hanok Village retains its historical charms andtraditions. Another trait of hanok is that all the houses are heatedwith ondol, a unique floor heating system. Since Koreans enjoy sitting,eating, and sleeping on the floor, it needs to remain heated in winter.To experience what hanok is like, visitors can either book a hanokaccommodation or visit the Hanok Life Experience Hall.
JEONDONG CATHOLIC CATHEDRAL:Jeondong Catholic Cathedral in Jeonju(Historic Site No. 288) was built in honor of Roman Catholic martyrs of theJoseon dynasty on the very same spot the martyrs lost their lives. The land waspurchased by French Priest Baudenet in 1891 (28th year of King Gojong), butconstruction of the church did not begin until 1908. The church was designedby Priest Poinel, who also designed the famous Myeongdong Cathedral inSeoul. Construction was completed in 1914, a time during which Korea wasunder Japanese rule. Though originally built just outside of Pungnammun Gate,the site of the martyrs, the church was later moved to its current location for expansion.

ORYUKDO SKYWALKThe regional name in olden times for the area ofOryukdo Skywalk was Seungdumal (승두말), as the shape resembles a saddle,and it was originally called Seungduma (승두마) as well as Jallokgae (잘록개)by residents and women divers. Visitors will be thrilled with the view of thewaves while looking down through the transparent floor. The sea stretches outahead of the skywalk, perfect for a photo op, as well as the best spot to seeDaemado Island on sunny days.
KUKJE MARKETFollowing the Korean War, refugees who fled to Busan set upstalls in order to make a living, and this was the beginning of the Gukje Market(gukje meaning "international" in Korean). The Gukje Market is one of Korea’slargest markets; each alleyway is crowded with stalls, and it connects toBupyeong Market, Kkangtong Market, and other smaller markets. CHEOMSEONGDAE:Cheomseongdae Observatory, constructed during thereign of Queen Seondeok (r. 632-647), is one of the landmark of Gyeongju. Theobservatory was built in a cylinder shape at approximately 9 meters in height.The observatory consists of 365 stones, symbolizing the number of days in ayear. The rocks are piled in 27 layers symbolizing the 27th ruler, QueenSeondeok, and the days in a lunar month by adding the of two rock layers ontop.
SEOKGURAM GROTTO:The official name of Seokguram, National Treasure No.24, is Seokguram Seokgul. Designated as World Cultural Heritage Site byUNESCO in 1995, it is an artificial stone temple made of granite. Theconstruction started with Kim Dae-Seong (700~774) in 751 during the reign ofKing Gyeong-Deok (742~765) of the Silla Dynasty (57 B.C.~A.D. 935) and it wasfinished twenty-four years later in 774, during the reign of King Hye-Gong(765~780).
BULGUKSA TEMPLE:Bulguksa Temple is the representative relic of Gyeongjuand was designated as a World Cultural Asset by UNESCO in 1995. The beautyof the temple itself and the artistic touch of the stone relics are knownthroughout the world.Bulguksa underwent numerous renovations from the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392) to the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), but was burned down during theImjinwaeran War (the war following the Japanese Invasion, 1592-1598).
