Chitwan National Park wasestablished in 1973 as Nepal's first national park. Back then, it was known as Royal Chitwan National Park. The wildlife park was established mainly to protect the declining population of the one-horned rhinoceros.
A total of 68 species of mammals, 544 species of birds, 56 species of herpetofauna and 126 species of fish have been recorded in the park. The park is especially renowned for its protection of One Horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tiger and Gharial Crocodile.
Arrival at Kathmandu Airport and start your first day trip at early in the morning by driving from Kathmandu (5 hrs. drive) to Chitwan National Park. Arriving in the Chitwan, check-in into a hotel / lodge, recline for a while and enjoy delicious lunch.
After tempting lunch, it’s time totake up a tour of Tharu Villagewhich will not offer you aglimpse of the local life in Tharu; but here you caninteract with the locals and know more about their lives and cultures!
Spend some quality time with them and thenvisit Elephant Stable Pointfor a brief detail on elephants provided by your personal naturalist.
Come evening,enjoy beautiful sunset at the nearby “Sunset View Point” and cultural program “Tharu Stick Dance” performed by the local Tharu community. The day will conclude with a tasty dinner at the lodge / hotel restaurant. Overnight stay at lodge / hotel.
Today morning, after having your breakfast,get ready for fascinating Canoeing Recreational Activity in the Rapti River. Well, this traditional dug-out canoe actictivies offer you a frequent spot to watch different mammals, birds and exhilarating moments!
But if you are not in the mood of canoeing, you canvisit Elephant Breeding Centerwhere you will be briefed about the breeding process, caring rules and later on you will give a little scrub to the elephant during the elephant bathing program at the nearby jungle river.
Following lunch, start your afternoon with anenjoyable Elephant Safarileaded by your naturalist and explores the varied wildlife of the region. Later in evening return to hotel / lodge.
Have a filling dinner at the jungle lodge /hotel restaurant and a good night's sleep at Chitwan.
Today morning, wake up at dawn and hit the road or littlewalk aroundChitwan National Parkto spot different spices of birds!
After a leisurely walk, return back to the hotel / lodge for brunch and continue your day with another exhilaratingJeep Drive in the jungle again to explore the most rare and endangered native wildlife animalssuch as monkeys, one-horned rhinos, deer, wild boars etc. and even ‘Tiger’ if luck favours.
Later return to the hotel / lodge for sumptuous dinner and overnight stay.
After the joyful 3 days, it’s time to wrap up your journey with delicious breakfast at Chitwan and drive back to Kathmandu Airport for onward destination with beautiful memories of Nepal.
