Overview

It is Famous for its 'khoye ki jalebi' and 'gakkad-bharta', the city of Jabalpur - situated at the heart of Madhya Pradesh - is a very popular place amongst tourists. This city is surrounded by low hills and lies north of the River Narmada.

In 1968 the area got its status of a National Park and now has become one of the preferred parks for Tiger Safari in India that includes photographing and tracking Tigers in wild. Bandhavgarh national park isone of the famed tiger abodes of India, sheltering World's highest density of Bengal Tigers.

The park has a significant population of the Royal Bengal tiger, Indian leopards, the sloth bear, barasingha and Indian wild dog. The forest depicted in the famous novel by Rudyard Kipling, The Jungle Book is based on jungles including this reserve. Kanha national park is famous for Tiger. Kanha Tiger Reserve, also known as Kanhakisti national park, is one of the tiger reserves of India and the largest national park of the state of Madhya Pradesh The present-day Kanha area is divided into two protected areas, Hallon and Banjar.

It is famous for itsferocious Bengal Tigersthat boasts a significant amount of tourism in the park. At present, there are around 50 tigers residing in the prey-rich woodlands of park's region. Besides this, the park also has 39 species of mammals 13 species of reptiles and 3 species of amphibians.
