Nepal is among the most preferred countries by tourists. It would be a bit difficult to name just one most visited destination in this beautiful country. However, some of the most visited places are:
● Kathmandu: Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal. The most famous royal palace in Kathmandu is Durbar Square which is a must-visit.
● Swayambhunath Temple (Monkey Temple): It is a sacred site for Newari Buddhists and features a stupa with the eyes of its lord almighty.
● Chitwan National Park: This park is a haven for nature and wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, and birdwatchers.
Chitwan National Park was established in 1973 as Nepal's first national park. Back then, it was known as Royal Chitwan National Park. The wildlife park was established mainly to protect the declining population of the one-horned rhinoceros.
A total of 68 species of mammals, 544 species of birds, 56 species of herpetofauna and 126 species of fish have been recorded in the park. The park is especially renowned for its protection of One Horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tiger and Gharial Crocodile.
